A Botswana woman starts up the country's first female-owned detective
agency. Based on the novel by Alexander McCall Smith
I mentioned this in my "whats on tv" post. I finally watched it. 2 good
female leads Jill Scott and Anika Noni Rose (Dream Girls). Idris Elba also
stars in the show as the "top" bad guy. Its filmed in Botswana, so you
get sceneries from bustling city, to dusty roads and villages, to deserts.
I don't know if Jill and Anika are pulling off the accents perfectly,
since i don't know any Botswanans. But they do use the native tongue
along with english throughout the show. Dialog is good, actings is good
character development is good.

Watching the first episode. I see they kept the atmosphere of
the pilot episode. A very refreshing show, humor, drama, lovely
dialog, character development, engaging scenery.
I have no idea why its on HBO. I'll have to see if the season
completed in England or if they decided to branch over to US.
ETA: the pilot wasn't the pilot it lol. it was a short movie.
The series is being done for both BBC,UK and HBO,USA.

smh at a bunch of americans whom one of them isn't even a real actress and couldn't lock down a major tv show or movie in her own country, going to Botswana to film a show.
They're portrayal of Botwanan's is meh.
You can clearly tell tell they don't speak Twana...
